Each of the Heavenly Cask collection releases will celebrate one of the cask types that have been used to age Zacapa 23 by additionally aging and emphasizing the extraordinary taste sensations they individually create. The second of four limited-editions, El Alma, it’s a blend of rums from 6 to 24 years old finished in charred ex-American whiskey casks, with enigmatically toasted and rich flavor notes. SELECTED BARREL Inspired by the Soul cask, Zacapa 23 El Alma has experienced additional aging in charred exAmerican whiskey casks. These casks have been charred and exposed to flames that reach deep within the grain to ignite and extract the attributes of the wood, and the essence of nature. It imparts the rum with uniquely deep toasted notes, as enigmatic as our volcanic surroundings.
